The ultimatepressure is x10 1 Pa.■DY-MP typeThe exhaust system incorporates an oil-sealed rotary vacuum pump with a mechanical boosterfor increased exhaust speed. The ultimate pressure is x10 0 Pa, an order of magnitude higherthan the DY-P type. The DY-MP type is ideal for large-quantity processing of workpieces thatinvolve large gas volumes.■Heating mechanismTo achieve high temperatures inside the vacuum chamber, the system incorporates an internalheating system in which sheath micro-heaters attached to the underside of each shelf boardserve as heating sources. Depending on the type of workpiece, heaters can also be attachedto the inner wall surfaces of the chamber. With either system, compared to external heatingsystems, our internal heating system reduces the time required to heat the chamber to thespecified temperature and improves temperature distributions within the chamber.■Heating controlPID control is performed by individual temperature controllers provided for each of the heatersinstalled in the chamber, thereby ensuring accurate, reliable temperature control. Additionally,programmable controllers can be used to specify heating patterns.■OperabilityThe DY Series types are easy to use and can be operated by anyone. Simply press the Startbutton to turn on the system and activate the sequencer program for automatic control offunctions including vacuum exhaust, heating, and valve opening and closing. The device systemconfiguration and On/Off status of each of the devices are displayed on the graphic panel toenable easy confirmation of operating status. Various interlock functions are provided to preventerroneous operations at each separate stage.■SafetyIn the event of an equipment malfunction during automatic operations, the system either haltsall operations or specific functions, depending on the type of malfunction (a drop in coolingwater amount or air pressure, overheating, and so forth), and uses the lamps on the graphicpanel to indicate the type of malfunction. The system also implements a comprehensive rangeof safeguards. For example, in the event of a power failure, the main valve closes to maintainpressures in the vacuum heating chamber (to prevent oxidation of the workpieces caused byatmospheric leaks), while the pump leak valve opens to prevent backflow of the pump oil.■Optional forced cooling function dramatically reduces processing timesSince vacuums serve as superior insulators, heat dissipation can take a very long time. Evenwhen the heaters are turned off following heat treatment, it takes a long time for temperaturesto drop to around 50 o C, at which workpieces can be removed. The optional forced coolingfunction dramatically reduces the time required for temperatures to drop, thereby significantlyreducing total processing times.14
